Does anyone know where i can get a sim card which is called a 'ghost card' a card that is undetectable by the network in some way that the user is not using the cellphone acording to the network, therefore the user cannot be charged at all, cause it is not 'present' these cards have been issued to the ceo's, directors etc of cell c, vodacom and mtn . and i would really love to obtain one. So please contact me if you have or can get a card similair to this. Thanx for reading.

Your desire to break the law is only surpassed by your complete lack of understanding of how mobile networks work. There is and can never be such a thing as a 'ghost card'

To obtain a free, paid-for SIM, I'd suggest you become a director of a large network company. This implies dedication, hard work, motivation and lots of time.

To get a free line all you have do is work for any 3 cell networks and they will give you one.Call centres staff dont get these benefits.Unless you are a manager or supervisor

funny i know two networking contractors at mtn and both get this to some degree. mtn to mtn for them is free, mtn to vodacom and cell c is dirt cheap and mtn to telkom is slightly more expensive.

methinks me will be keeping close eye on the new "Jobs" forum :D

"ghost cards" exits... he has somewhat the wrong explantion of it. They were very popular about 2yrs ago. Costed you about R2500 but would generally work for about 3months before being detected.

Im not fully sure how the work but its my understanding that it is completely wrong to use. It is basically like a copy of another person account(contract) or something to that effect. Someone does get billed! So you are basically stealing. I have seen these cards before and Im verifying their existence.

There is no way you can get one. Only very high up techies in the cellurlar networks would be able to create such cards... which are very illegal ..... why would you ask about such a thing in a public forum?

MTN permanent staff and certain other individuals have normal SIMs but with staff tariffs. These are attractive, although not all calls are discounted. The main point is that they generate normal call records and are fully open to audit procedures. The network has to be aware of all SIM cards as it has to authorise the services required and has to know what to do with the call.

cloned, or ghost, simcards are illegal. its theft - you are stealing someone elses identity and incurring costs that the other person will have to pay. how would you feel if someone had a ghost of your bank card and drew your entire salary on pay day? if you are posting here expecting help on how to break the law, i suggest you give it a re-think and go elsewhere. this is not that sort of forum.

It is not possible for any card to be a "ghost" where it is undetectable. All sim cards have a IMSI number and log onto MTN's VLR's and HLR. It will be impossible to orginate a call from a card that does not"exist" on the network. Or even to recieve a call, as the network needs to know where the user is to forward the call to that mobile station.

What might have happened is that some of those "ghost cards" have certain discounted products loaded on MTN billing system, and only after a while has the network picked up that some of the cards are billing at zero or massive discount rates.
Also it is not possible to bill another user. As the MTN cannot allocate invoice to users, the SP will do that. And if that happens then the SP is commiting fraud. Which is a criminal offence.

Hope that assists

Note that the question of ghost cards will be allowed for educational purposes. It is clear that obtaining such a card would be illegal and I will in future delete such a request outright.

But seeing as it is an interesting topic I will allow it. If the other mods will tolerate this kind of request is up to them. IC, feel free to do as you please with this one.

:)
