I asking the ADSL "gaming" community what they would require from a VPN service to plays games like WOW, Battlefield 2 etc and what price range would you be willing to pay? Any thoughts, comments, etc would be greatly welcome.

(moderators, if this post is out of line please delete it!)

Thanks,

Fair offering, I recon it would be similar to what I am offering and it would only be viable if its unshaped naturally.

It would be unshapped and going out via a level 2 peer, so it would be pretty fast. Just want feedback from more people.

Perhaps you should elaborate on the benefits for the noobs that don't know what a VPN is... If you add a little educational vallue this thread is welcome...

;)

O.K. VPN = Virtual Private Network, the benifits would be that rather than access international game servers via TELKOM's "slow" international link (slow because TELKOM in their infinite wisdom thinks that shapping traffic is good) you would connect to the local TELKOM network via your ADSL and then connect to the VPN which would in turn route all your gaming traffic unshapped and unhindered by TELKOMS restrictions. In a nut-shell, that's it :)

Bottom line, rather than connecting to the game servers at speeds like I normally get 800ms - 5000ms you would get connection speeds in the sub 400ms range and would not be affected by the usual beginning and end of month slowness as on TELKOM network.
