Neotel Speedtest results

Here are several speedtest reports that I have generated over the past couple of days. Some days I was unable to even generate a report and other days the service was acceptable (but not anything exceptional).

I have 2 Neoflex modems and roughly 6 people (no more than 10) using it at one time, so by no means am I overloading the capabilities of the service.

Neotel have thankfully terminated my contract as of the end of April, and I no longer have to put up with this nonsense anymore.

Great for you! Just be careful, they might try to sue you 3 months down the line after their systems cock up the cancellation process. I'd keep a close eye on things, based on feedback from other ex-Neotel users on these forums.

Make sure keep copies of all the emails and other information. Print it if you have to. Don't trust Neotel. They are lying thieving barstards!

Not bad for a prime unlimited right. My actual download speed has been 1 Kbs for the past 3 days.

Im in the process of hiring people to dig a trench for an ADSL line myself... Stupid telkom refuses outright to do it.

I will offer to help you dig that trench, I think that a lot of people that of people that had to deal with neotel would rather help you dig that trench than let you suffer with neotel.
 
Not at home at the moment, but since Neotel (finally) switched on a new tower 3 km from me, previously on 6 km with no LOS whatsoever, my paltry speeds (not a major issue) shot up to 1 Mb/s up & 0.5 Mb/s down ping 160 ms. Most importantly, the pesky disconnects have disappeared completely. I'm engineered my service properly with external antenna. Have not re-aligned to new tower, so i'm thinking the improvement of the second signal strength (the other small antenna on Flex) did some good for me. My MOS (on pingtest) is 4.35 average (B rating), so video skype's a breeze. My test done mostly a peak times 7 - 9 pm. Need to get on the roof this weekend to swing that antenna around.

My view is if one just plonks the modem down and switch it on, results may vary dramatically - and so the satisfaction index - Now i know not everybody wants to be network boffin, but it does help "engineering" the service for better results.

Good for you! I had a similar problem but now I dont have to worry about 1kbs any more.
 
Can it be true? Really? After all my ranting it starts to work? I havent had a single disconnection in 3 days: A NEW RECORD!!!! Speeds have been decent too...

I need to upgrade my internet. This is pathetic. Cannot stream Supersport properly anymore.
