    It's really a no brainer decision seeing both OS X and Linux use OpenGL so once the application is ported you might as well broaden your sales base and generate more revenue

    I agree. However it's important that it's now official, because Phoronix and others had been speculating about it for a while.

    I sent valve a mail about linux support about a year ago and got a pretty rude response from one of their support staff but I sent a mail back telling him what I though of his attitude.

    I'd love to see more games run natively in Linux. Anything that runs on Mac OSX 'should' be easily made to run on Linux. If Linux were to ever break Window's choke on the desktop market, getting even footing in the gaming industry would be a solid first step.

    And Microsoft won`t be able to dangle the directx carrot in front of gamers faces to buy every new OS that they make.
