Hi there
I want to play Rid****, but get a error when starting the game....
"you screen driver needs to support OPENGL 1.3 or higher"
I'm using an 5600 fx Nvidia card, 256 meg card memory with ver. 77.71 driver released in July. What can I do to correct this problem???
Thanx

Go here: http://www.google.com/custom?q=esca...&sitesearch=m0002.gamecopyworld.com&sa=Search

click on the first link and download the "The Chronicles of Rid**** NVIDIA OPENGL FIX" (The second download, just click on the blue stiffy)

The 77.71 Drivers updates so the Nvidia cards use opengl 2.0 The patch will allow you to run the game with the new drivers.

[EDIT] I changed the link should work now.

No,my problem is that my cap has reached 30gig, can't download now from oversea!!

Me again. Tell me, I have installed my game to my own games folder. In the patch I noticed they say the file must be copied into c:\Program_Files\Rid**** etc.......
Do you think that I must leave the default install folder to Program Files, or doesn't it matter???

No you can install anywhere.

C:\Program Files\Starbreeze Studios\Rid**** EFBB\System\Win32_x86_SSE2
C:\Games\Starbreeze Studios\Rid**** EFBB\System\Win32_x86_SSE2
C:\Games\Rid**** EFBB\System\Win32_x86_SSE2

Just make sure that you put the patch in System\Win32_x86_SSE2

Found another solution and emailed you but here it is again.

RivaTuner has a feature to "limit" opengl to say 1.3 It can do it from version 0.* - 2.0 This way you don't have to downgrade your driver or apply a patch.

Just check your email, I sent the link and everything there.

There is an official patch out, www.rid****game.com (I'm at work so can't check website name), that fixes this problem.

IMO Rid**** is better than Half-Hype 2... maybe shorter but has more action, quality and overall finesse with Vin Diesel in the main role....

*ducks for cover*

Agree with you. Don't really put it down to Vin Diesel though, but rather to a game designers that decided to make a fun game. I've played through it twice now and loved it. HL2 had a lot to do and live up to. Also there was an amazing amount of pressure on Valve for it.
