As from today I will no longer offer my advise regarding taxes. If you wanting any further advise please contact the SARS call center on 0860121218.
I am constantly being questioned and called when I offer or give the advise when asked the questions. Now I am sick and tired of it and am no longer interested in who wants to quote sections of the Tax Act.
So from today I am no longer available to any member of this forum.

I discovered one or two new things I could claim for, and they were approved by SARS...

I am also not offering advice on Radio Control Cars anymore, so for those of you who keep PMing me, I was only joking and know nothing about them!

I will still post in the RC threads though, but only because I like them.

No man you were going to help me...damn. Well doing things for free sometimes has its limits...lol, there are always knowitalls! Well, anyway, thank you for assisting me even though I never got my IRP5 to you...thanks for even considering to help . I believe you meant good...thanks.:)

Dear celine,

If you change your settings to only receive PMs from friends, then you can control who can and can't send you PMs. Those wanting tax advice can request to be your friend via here. If they become full of schit, just remove them as a friend and voila, no more crap from stupid people.

Your advice in tax-related threads is appreciated. Don't let one or two inebriates destroy it for others.
 
Thanks for all your advise celine, but you shouldn't get to worked up over people that think they knoe more than you. You are bound to find them.
 
I have the same problem since i work in IT i am expected to support everyone`s pc that knows me for free.
I feel your pain Celine.

considering some of the dodgy advice you gave this is good news. I dont doubt you meant well, but your condescending and aggresive attitude when addressing issues clearly above your pay grade was getting tiring.

Two that I can recall

1) earning any income from rentals means you have to be registered as a provisional tax payer: Act clearly states that is is only true if the taxable income is more than a certain amount.

2)Income earned from letting to family is not taxable - just laughable

I think you'll find that when it comes to the courts who are the ultimate arbiters(and not SARS) the Act carries more weight than you lend it.
