AXXESS Launches 1024 Kbps Uncapped ADL Account

It looks like AXXESS has filled in the gap between 512kb and 4Meg. This costs R396 and is also unshaped and uncapped.

Does this mean that Telkom has a 1meg ADSL now or is it for users who can only get this speed on a 4Meg line?

Expensive and somewhat useless if you have to pay for a 4 meg line.

This just means that they are getting updated with the new line speeds that will be available or they listened to complaints by users only able to sync at that profile

If you are looking for a middle of the ground uncapped account rather look at www.Sainet.co.za they have a R295 for 10GB during the day and uncapped after hours and weekends account. Watch out though they state an AUP of 100GB pm. Still if you use less than 100GB and want 4Mb then this one is for you.

cool, this sounds interesting and just the right package for me, just have to get the facts on connection speeds, like how much is the connection throttled after hours. i used to use up +-90gb on a 384k line and now moved to a 4mb capped line and my bill works out to R399 for 4mb line rental + 3gb cap and then I pay +-R250 for 7gb international and 28gb local. so 100gb should do me fine, because I will still have my 3gb unshaped cap with my line rental for my gaming :)

Got your line with Cybersmart as well huh. Yeah the Sainet account will work just fine. There is no throttling so don't worry.

lol, yeah, had my 384k line with cybersmart for about 2 years and then they cut off my uncapped and offered me a 4mb package;) so sainet is on a month to month package, whats there notice period to cancel, if need be?

normal end of the month stuff but call them to confirm. AFAIK they offer the first month free these days as well

It'd be an awesome offering were I not likely to be in the top 50% of IS users.

ooo, I like the gap that has been filled.
512 seems pointless and 4096 too expensive.
now, please, CyberSmart come to the party with a better deal and I will make the leap from 384
yes, I am on 384; I am such a woos
lol

Adsl Line rental pricing will have to drop for this to make any sense.

Roughly R1050 for 4 meg (total cost)
Roughly R950 for 1 meg (total cost)

Makes no sense at the moment.

+1

Pay R100 extra and get 3X the speed....

Was thinking the same thing .. seeing that you still have to pay for a 4meg line this is a saving or about R100.
One time my line would only sync at 2.5meg, why would I take this product if I could stay on 4meg & get double the speed for R100 extra?
Not really worth it unless Telkom decides to differentiate between 1 & 4meg rentals.

It's only benficial if you use A LOT of bandwidth, to go uncapped. I'm on 4Mbs and Axxess unshaped at R19/GB, a freelance designer so work online a lot, I also download a reasonable amount of music and tv shows.
My usage is around 15GB in a normal month, 25GB when I'm bored and downloading a lot. Axxess Uncapped 4Mbs is R496, which is equivalent to buying 26GB of their R19 unshaped data. Therefore, its cheaper going uncapped ONLY if you're using over 26GB on average
