You guys are really negative.

Negative????????? The article says until end September and then when you buy you only get 1Gig. So who is to blame MyBroadband or Afrihost

Visser added that the special is running now in their Client Zone, and will run until the end of the month or until they have run out of their budgeted GBs - whichever comes first.

Been using Afrihost ever since they started the R29 special.

I've started with an 1Gb account, and had to upgrade twice. Is now on a 3Gb package. I prefer a capped account over an uncapped account as it's not shaped to death.

The first upgrade (from 1 to 2Gb) had a hiccup in as I didn't had enough money in my account, but the second one (from 2 to 3Gb) went off smoothly.

So far their speeds didn't disappoint me, and there was very little or no service interruptions.

Here's proof :

So if I take the R29 per GB, how much in total am I going to pay?
ie. Telkom line , ADSL rental(384), and package

I'm waiting for Telkom to install the line and....

I originally left Telkom for these guys when they started the revolution. Good, no make that, excellent service. A few months back I pushed my account down to 1GB pm, because WA offered their Titan special which was too good not to take. Still have my 1GB account with them and use it every now and then ... times like this when it springs to life. Wish this pricing was the norm.

Great stuff Afrihost ! Now just please try sort out the ridiculous shaping on your uncapped product ! Hows about a 150-250GB range 'capped' product for just less than the current uncapped pricing, but with less aggressive shaping? That would be more than ample for most people (such as me) and you wont have the guys who use around a Terrabyte every month destroying it for the rest of us? =)

I liked Afrihost and they will go down in history as a company that helped shape (no pun intended) SA Internet, but once you have used Mweb uncapped you will never look back, yes they shape but not drastically, well not all the time. How people can use 3GB capped is mind blowing to me, I use more than that just keeping my win 7, anti-virus, java etc. up to date, add a few youtube videos and driver downloads and you are way above that. Once uncapped always uncapped.

I started with 2x3GB accounts (one for me and one for my wife) and eventually cancelled the one and signed for the 20GB account which gives me 40GB per month. Happy as a pig in [edited].
