Impact Radio, a community radio station in Pretoria, has been auctioning off computers for the past 7 years and donating every cent to charity!
The Charity Bid as it is known, has raised and given away over R6 million since the feature began back in 2001. Why would this be of interest to you? Simple. If you’re in the market for a brand new notebook and want to save R1500-R2000 on the purchase price while knowing that every cent you spend will be going to a worthy cause, then this is for you!
During the morning drive-show this Thursday, Impact Radio will be auctioning off 10 HP Notebooks. Two or three notebooks are set aside at a time and listeners are given a certain amount of time to call in, sms or email and state the amount they would be willing to pay. The highest offers get the notebooks. It’s as easy as that. During the ‘bidding’ process, those answering phones as well as the DJs on air help the listeners keep track of the highest bids.
The specs of the notebooks can be found at http://www.impactradio.co.za/index.php?4895 or if you’d like to find out more you can contact the station on 012-3488-111.
Also, if you’d like to take part, since they only broadcast to greater Pretoria on 103FM, you might need to tune in on the net at www.impactradio.co.za to keep track of your bid.
