Neotel's potential retrenchment: operator will not provide details

wow did not see that comming....sarcasm.
They are uselless. Close the doors chaps and hand the key to telkom. or better give it to the ANC they are the only people that can stuff thing up better than neotel
 
Neotel Give us a 4mbps line on prepaid with data at R19.00 per gig and see people change but no you what over R200.00 per gig on 156kbps line thats why you going out of business
 
Two things Neotel!!!

Get better products, a stable network plus better support.

And remember this is SA, you put so called "qualified" people in position you're gonna learn the hard way why and when things go wrong....

I hate it when companies coat things in a sticky layer of bull****. why dont they just say things like they are? in the history of startups (especially ones that got a few things on a silver platter) i have not seen a bigger disaster than Neotel. Must be a bunch of managers with their heads so far up their own arses they couldnt spell SLA if it sat on their face.
 
Can't say we didn't see this coming. Not sure about the business market but they have had zilch effect on ordinary consumers.

Bad news for their employees though :(

yep and the scary thing is , when we heard of Neotel coming we all thought of them as the knight in shining amour who was going to force down the cost of telecoms - we were wrong. All we got was a couple of interviews with the indian big boss man who played it conservatively, instead of capitalising off the *****e "service" and bad experiences we have had with Telskum!!!

Losers!!!

You forgot to ask Father Xmas for Fibre or Wireless... one needs to be specific about these things.

Quikki> the stuff you're quoting is the Neotel Consumer **** and it is.. most definitely...**** when compared to a Telkom ADSL copper line. If you were going to compare Neotel's Broadband option then its a different story:

5 Fibre to building 1Mbps R1 600
5 Fibre to building 2Mbps R3 050
5 Fibre to building 5Mbps R5 100
5 Fibre to building 10Mbps R8 200
5 Fibre to building 15Mbps R11 250

The difference being that when you buy this service you're alsobuying unshaped and uncapped (relative to AUP) service. So you wouldn't need to add a data package to this.

The 10 Mbps has a 3 Terabytes of data AUP per month. BUT IT AINT CHEAP!

So it doesn't really matter if you're a business or a consumer who wants fibre to their home. If you can pay for it you get the proper stuff. If you want el cheapo per Gig costs then Neotel CONSUMER is definitely not the way to go for performance.

The reason the FIFA World Cup worked was because there was a political will to make it work.

The reason Telkom is still around is because there is a political will to reap the benifits...??

The reason Neotel fails (is failing) (failed) is because there is a political will to make them fail, and because there is the TATA involvement and no benefit for the ANC.

And we are still left without options on the last mile.........:cry:
 
Poor management always costs individuals a lot in life. If only Neotel would have refrained from hiring Telkom employees in the first place. :-(
 
I have met both very competent and very incompetent staff from Neotel. Guys like Angus Hay, Stephano Mattielo, Rajeev Sinha, Mike Silber and Tracy Cohen are certainly excellent at what they do, but I don’t think they get the support which they need to make everything work.

They also have an obligation to roll out residential services in "under serviced" areas, which I have not seen any evidence of, to date.
