Uncapped 2Mbps broadband for R49,532

Residents of Turkmenistan can benefit from the same high-speed Internet as the rest of the world -- as long as they pay $6,821 dollars per month, according to prices posted on the country's provider Monday.

And here we are, Canada and South Africa having a pity party eh?

Are those intergalactic sperm in the accompanying picture? :erm:

To think we complain about the prices and shaping policies that ISP impose on us. After reading this I would say then we are spoilt lol:)

The cheapest Internet access in Turkmenistan costs $43 per month but only allows two gigabytes of traffic.

R300 per month for 2 Gigs eh? Not bad pricing since Vodacom charges us R390.

Who the hell wants to know what people pay for Internet in Turkmenistan? Most likely some country that Russia threw away.

Can you imagine if you don't pay on time though? Might just have some dude with 10 kg’s of C4 stuck to himself saying “ You pay now or I will cut you off” – click. – Boom. LOL

Haha they probably had the same story in the US or Europe about us a few years ago.

Article should be renamed to "Source of Telkom's baffling market positioning found in Turkmenistan"

Title says 2Mbps. Article says 2,048 kilobytes per second.

There is a difference xD

But which is correct?

2Mbps is correct, bandwidth is measured in bits not bytes.

I can see where our ISP's get their inspiration, except Cell C of course!

i had no idea Telkom had expanded to this part of the world.

Unlimited Internet is also available at slower speeds, with the least expensive option of 64 kilobytes per second for a bargain price of $213 per month.

R1500 for 64kbps uncapped!

That's 20GB maximum per month.

Well I went to turkmenistan in 2008 ... I know at least now where the term wonderbra comes from .... they have put it to good use or invented it .... because oh mama ... and it ends there.
