lol...I am so happy when I look at my payslip and seeing my taxes deducted...I just know its for the best...really I do :P

Worst part is that most of their supporters will say it's ok to blast that amount of cash ......

Bloody hell.. R6m for this fat deluded moron to prattle on about the same nonsense as last year?

:wtf:

Fsck it! How the hell does the ANC figure out how to spend soooo much money!? Have they appointed people to sit down and figure out clever ways to spend copious amounts of cash?

It's a fair budget for a State of the Nation address. However I'm sure certain media companies would pay top dollar for such an event. Does the ANC hate them so much they'd rather screw their tax paying citizens (mostly 7 million whites and wealthy blacks) to make their point? Arrogant stubborn one track bastards...

At most there might be 2 million white tax payers from a total population of around 4.6 million whites. That leaves us with 5 million wealthy blacks that pay tax :whistle::whistle:

Let's at least hope he get's it right this time by actually preparing his speech and not starting on like page 3 saying something like "so with this new initiative people all around SA will be glad to hear that things are shaping up" <--- Everybody goes "whaaat??" and then he laughs while paging back franticly to page 1 and starts over....

Does anyone remember the state of the nation /opening of parliment back in the "old days" with the huge militiary parades, pomp and ceremony etc ? If only there was such a thing as a fair press or a trasparent government then as there is now then we could compare the costs. I'm pretty sure though 6 million wouldn't come close to paying for it the way the Nats did it.

Quiet you! Trying to blame apartheid, are you?! Our memories of that period are suppressed:D

Consider the Military (militiary?) are already paid for and could use a bit of marching exercise. Zuma's probably paying 2 bar to a cousin's garage philharmonic band to provide tunes. Pretty sure no press event in those days broke the bar mark. Prove me wrong.

I do not think you can compare as the volume and logistics they are different than way back then.

I'm not saying they did not spend the money. IT can not compare as even just the ministers is more people than way back then.

No, I don't have a bone to pick. I don't say it's right or wrong to spend this money. I'm just asking anyone who can remember what huge expense the old government went to for this event and put that into perspective to the relatively meager sum of 6 million being spent now. Because I don't remember large public outcry in those days about this type of expense as we're seeing now. I'm neutral but an A.N.C supporter might accuse such double standards and sentiment as hypocritical.

Do you remember ? If you honestly do, then just think of the jet fuel alone. It used to be a huge event. 6 million wouldn't go far.

I don't see the value in wasting this money on this type of nonsense either. But the A.N.C certainly didn't set the precident or go to the same lengths. Let's just keep that in mind in the spirit of fairness.

hey at least its not R100 mil on a failed attempt at something like the previous piss up.
I agree we do not need this. This money could have built a few houses.
