The Product Development division centred in Johannesburg has a vacancy for a VOIP Product Manager who reporting to the General Manager: Voice Services will be responsible to build VOIP products from existing ideas, and help to develop new ideas based on industry experience and contacts with customers and prospects. The position is primarily centred in Johannesburg.
Main Purpose of the job
• Understand the market needs in terms of VOIP solutions through customer interaction, the presales teams and sales teams.
• Find innovative VOIP solutions for the broader market.
• Communicate with all areas of the company through presentations, training and VOIP related product specification documents.
• Define the go-to-market strategy working with the marketing designate in order to assist the marketing designate with understanding the product positioning, key benefits, and target customer.
• Serve as the internal and external promoter of VOIP product offerings, occasionally working with the sales channel and key customers.

• Manage the entire VOIP product life cycle which consists of:
o Strategic planning

• Defining and planning new and existing VOIP products and product enhancement.

• Defining product strategic direction based on customer needs, market trends and business goals.

Key Responsibilities
• VOIP Product management – Key operational tasks that monitor and maintain you product’s performance from sales, implementation, support and billing perspective.
• Product Development – Find, design and productize new VOIP products that compliment MWEB Business’s services offering.
• Complete and maintain MSD (master service documents) for each related product. The MSD covers all aspects of the product and processes in the organization.
• Complete BRS (Business Requirement Specifications) on how VOIP products will function in the business system.
• Communicate Product information to the relevant Divisions across MWEB.
• Product Training of Field Sales, Call Centre Sales and Business Partners, as well as product awareness to inter departments.
• Liaise with technical and support departments on product related issues and resolution
• Liaise with Billing and collection departments on product related issues.
• Project manage internal departments and 3rd party suppliers in process of productizing and launching new products.
• Manage and design marketing text for Website and sales uses.
• Liaison with respect to VOIP Product related matters, such as implementation processes and product codes and descriptions.
• Manage supplier relations and payments.
Qualifications and Experience
• A minimum of 3 years experience in a VOIP related Internet Service Provider or Application Service Provider industry, essential.
• Must possess a thorough knowledge of telecommunications technology across several disciplines and have a working knowledge of Information Systems.
• Excellent Project management skills
• Have experience of implementing and supporting a corporate Voice solutions
• Sales experience an advantage
• Good decision-making skills
• Ability to work effectively on own initiative
• Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage (multiple) teams within the organization and 3rd party suppliers
