Hi

I wrote this little program that automatically closes BitTornado and BitComet torrents once they're finished to prevent them from seeding. This means you can leave your torrent downloading overnight and not fear that all of your precious and very expensive Gigs will get used up when the torrent completes downloading and starts seeding, thus possibly uploading all night long...

I did post about this proggy way back in May 2005 but I've added some new features (such as hiding BitTornado windows), and some other little enhancements (such as a proper install program), so I'm posting about it again.

If anyone else (apart from me ;)) is actually using this please let me know cos I'm not sure if I should bother working on it any more...

Oh, you can download it here: http://antibody.za.net/extras/btstopper.php

Cheers

Thanks man,

This is exactly what I was looking for, will make my life much easier.

You DO know, that not continuing seeding till you hit a 1:1 ratio is a banable offense on 999/1000 sites?
It's the least you could do, and it's a built-in feature to stop seeding at a certain ratio %, after you're done.

when mods view a torrent file, they see a totally different page than normal and powerusers. They see a huge list of everybody that finished the download and a HUGE red bar over people's names that are not seeding it. Alongside that is the ratio seeded by that user, and next to that, is the WARNING/BAN button...
If you cant do the time/seeding, dont do the crime/leeching.

Goodluck getting your buddies' accounts banned, sucker.

Thanks for all the hard work, but i have to say: hit and run is just not cool. Glad some people find it useful tho, just hope they not using it on the local sites

Nice util!, just wished that we were not forced to resort to these things! The actions we are taking is going to kill, in this case, Bit torrent, which relies on people sharing what they have downloaded, effectively providing seeders and peers!!
Any way this is telkom's fault not any of ours!!! So keep up the good work.
