after the lightning everything works fine cept for the dsl link wont go active?

if it got struck would it affect just the dsl link and everything would work fine?

also the settings are pppoe 8/35 llc is that correct?

It's quite possible that a surge only popped a few components where the line connects. It may or may not be visible on the board.

Don't mean to be funny, but actually smell the thing to see if it smells burnt.

Those settings are correct - small the thing and if you smell a sweet burnt small something is fried. If nothing was changed before and after the storm and it just does not work, then my guess would be that something is fried.

yea mine to but its smelt burnt when i bought it 2 weeks ago lol and it worked fine

but ive left it off will try it lata on see if it works if not there goes 900 bucks grrrrrrrrrrr
