Think I can get a good deal at Matrix Computer Warehouse? Their prices are usually the best.

Considering the N36L if I can find it for under R1000. Would I notice a big difference? Don't know if we'll see any N40L specials soon.

NOT cheapest
I purchased from Bluetek R899 + only thing that shafted me badly was the delivery costs - I am sure you can order someone to go to Potch to fetch for cheaper than they charged me (R200)
There was also a issue with the DHL courier that they had used - lost my damn delivery... and they had to get it "re-delivered" by TheCourierGuy, no cost to me luckily.
Purchased HP36l with the 1Gb and 250G Ive been sick, so I wasn't able to set it up yet !! FK![]()
Are there still people/places that can supply the server at sub R1000?
I almost took a second one as well until I realized I first have to fill the first one with 3TB HDD's![]()
I bought 4 in the Esquire specials. Fourth still sealed in the box and have no use for it - yet.

DMW - Don't bother running. You'll just die tired.
A couple of months back I purchased a MicroServer, upgraded to 4Gb.
The GeForce 210 graphics card prevented booting, but once that was removed all was well. I haven't yet tried reinstalling the card.
The 'Vail' WHS install was very smooth, and generally all is well.
The unit was supplied with bios 41 dated 29/07/2011 - the legal BIOS with with AHCI enabled - so I didn't bother to flash using a third-party BIOS.
This weekend I decided it was time to restart the project, so I purchased an Asus DVD drive and two 2TB Seagate green drives. All went in, and I experienced no problems in booting normally. THe system recognised all the new hardware.
My intention was to leave the originally supplied 250GB drive as the boot drive, the pair the two new drives as a Raid1 combo.
NB: I followed the excellent instructions in http://www.tricksguide.com/setup-rai...croserver.html
I F10'd, then changed the 'AHCI' to 'RAID' in the 'Advanced' portion of the BIOS.
My first problem was that I was unable to 'Ctrl-F' to get to the Raid Configuration Menu.
On about the tenth try I succeeded and managed to configure the two new drives as a Raid pair.
Then the system won't boot: it always ended up in the Windows repair module.
Eventually, after breaking the Raid pairing and reverting to 'AHCI', I managed to reboot successfully.
I am not sure if it means anything, but when I went to the the boot sequence menu I noticed that the boot drive was now identified as 'RAID', though this is probably due to the BIOS not allowing one to flag drive types individually.
Any suggestions most greatfully accepted.
More than likely a driver issue. You either need to load the raid driver into your existing windows load before switching the bios to raid or introduce it when doing a fresh install.
Your other problem also is that once you switch on raid in the bios all the sata ports are in raid mode so you need to add your single OS drive in as a raid "volume"
