Water cooling SLi rig

Dont know much about water cooling, but im looking for water cooling solution for both my 7800gtx's , amd 64 3500+ cpu and my noisy northbridge fan on my msi k8n neo4 plat sli motherboard. any recommendations? it has to be silent and of course cool, otherwise it just defeats the point of me getting water cooling. any water cooling experts out there that can help me???
 
I'll get you prices on a Thermatake Big water - You need to wait till 2Jan to get it though.

Personally I know very little about water cooling setups as I have never owned one.
These 2 above are available from Eddie at Frontosa in Cape Town, as I have just looked at their Price List.

The Zalman looks awesome IMO.
I think it is best to check out more reviews on both of those products before you make a decision. As I said I know nothing about which setup is better.
I think Rectron have a nice Coolermaster Water Kit as well. Not caring to look now.

I find my AMD 64 3200+ (10x280=2800Mhz) Venice runs nice and cool, even at overclocked speeds, without all the trouble of water cooling.

I always thought that the most noise comes from the PSU fan air flow rather than anything else.

Aren't you a bit nervous putting watter in your PC? What happens if one connector fails? :D
 
If you want to cool both GTX's + your AMD + NB, your going to need a proper watercooling system. The kits from coolermaster, thermaltake and vantec, are good for a CPU only. Maybe a CPU and GFX. But for what you require youll need something along the lines of Koolance Exos 2, or a hardcore Danger Den Kit.

These are proper hardcore watercooling systems, and can handle the big load. The Zalman is crap, especially if you LAN alot, you have to drag that stupid big cylinder around with you, with pipes hanging out.
 
KillerX, thanks man ... yes i have been doing some reading up on the different kits and you right about those other kits like thermaltake etc being entry level. who stocks koolance, swiftech, danger den??? i want to mix and match. who makes the best pump? the best waterblocks? 1/2 inch or 3/8 inch tubing?
 
swordfish1 .. honestly i was but no know im not, read the precautions seems pretty safe if you follow the steps. i also found this thing called fluid xp, seen a video where a guy dumped this fluid on his graphics card and nothing happened. could be mistaken but i think they mentioned it was inert, developed by some nasa scientist
 
I have been using water-cooling for both my graphics card and chipset for over a year. A water-cooling kit can easily deal these components, however, I found that it's not enough for my CPU. Again it depends on what you want to do - OC or not. I invested in a Vapochill unit that gives me below zero temps on the CPU - even under load. This makes it possible for me to run my AMD Athlon 64 4000+ at a steady 3000 MHz 24/7.

XP fluid is expensive - and yes it's not a conductor - so your system will survive e leak.

how quiet is the vapochill? and cant i like get a water cooling setup and vapochill the radiator by mod that way i spread the love to all the other compenents:)
 
1. fluid xp costs R400 for 1 litre ...
2. the fridge thing, thought about that:) (but then the folks said they need the white box to keep their food and stuff, so i decided against it)

ok, so here are my options, swiftech mcw55 water blocks for the gpu cards.
mc350 pump from swiftec for the pump (dont know if the 655 version is better, maybe someone can tell me why). then koolance low profile north bridge waterblock ... and cpu water block ... i dunno... what you guys think? then of course where do i buy swiftech products?

my whole idea is quiet. i use my pc for listening to music and watching movies, thats why i am looking at water cooling
 
i got an antec TP2, to be honest it is very silent, dont hear it at all ... but there are also fanless power supplies ... the most noisiest fan in my case is the little tiny northbridge fan that spins at a whining 7000rpm ... then its the gpu fans, then my cpu fan. look i currently am using zalman fans for my cpu and the one gpu. but now with two gpus its gets hot in the case, and i cant have my zalman fans on low. i really got used to the low setting for the zalmans. so that why im looking at water to cool the machine, or vapochill, if it is quiet.

You could do that, however, might just loose your PC as a result of condensation.

Remember that a water-cooling setup does not reduce the component temp. below the ambient temp - therefore no condensation. Vapochill does.

2x7800gtx = fear at 1280x1024 with everything maxed includin 4x AA, runs at 82fps average when doing the ingame test, minumum frames is 40fps. and have you ever download the nvidia demo of mad mod mike and nalu. all i can say is wow, have not seen anything like it esp in real time! ... and with sli it is silky smooth.
