I am looking to replace my D-Link DSL-2740U with something that is ultra reliable and does the following :
Gigabit switch
Dualband Wireless-N
ADSL Router

Is there any devices I should look at or that can be recommended? I know the newer Linksys models like the WAG-320 are no good.

Been looking for some time now and the only one I could find was the Netgear DGND3700. However, all the reviews say it's bollocks because the ADSL keeps dropping and only way to reconnect is manually rebooting the router.

I haven’t had any issues with mine, bearing in mind it’s not in an enclosure.

why do you say they are no good???

I am busy with the same research, and looking for pretty much the same specs.
The Netgear DGND3700 is also top of my list at the moment, and while I have seen reviews and reports of the router dropping-off, there is many pro reviews that give it excellent remarks for its speed and stability. I wonder if some of the people having problems with this router got early revisions - maybe the problems were sorted out with new firmware.

There is not much else that comes close to this router for the same price range.

EDIT - Found this comment on one of the review sites, seems to backup what I said above.

The solution to the connection dropping was a beta file that you could obtain from netgears 2nd line engineers. The firmware has since been updated and all is well. I received the beta file 7 weeks ago and the updated firmware one week ago and neither have dropped connection.

Telkom techie was here a little while ago to do our ADSL installation. The order was placed in January 2012, so you can imagine my excitement when I got the SMS to say that they would be here today to do the installation.

As usual, I was completely let down AGAIN by Telkom... Seems like at Telkom, one hand doesn't have a clue what the other hand is doing. The call center seems to think that our exchange is ADSL enabled - but according to the techie, it isn't :(
The one further up the road is though, and some of the number prefix is the same as our exchange, so maybe that is where the call centre confusion comes from.

So for now we are stuck on the miserably crappy and slooooooowwwww Telkom Wimax (512), and I am no longer in the market for a new wireless Router-ADSL Modem combo :(

When I got ADSL back in 2010 it was really quick. They pitched within two weeks, could not pull the wire through to the house. I dug up my drive way, fixed the conduit pipe, pulled the telkom cable through, repaved my drive way and made another appointment. They pitched within a few days, connected me at 384kbps since my exchange only goes up to 512kbps. After a week I requested to go on a 4mbps trial... bliss ever since.

Actually did a line speed check now :
