Official 2011 Rugby World Cup Thread

I really think in the last 10 - 15 minutes France had the opportunity to win that game and they didn't by choosing not to take a drop goal attempt....

You cannot win a game without the ball in hand. Too many teams forget this in the heat of the moment.

I asked before but is that Haka available on youtube. I want to watch how the Frenchies lined up again.

Was there not one year when a team stood in a circle whilst the NZ performed the haka?

I think it was the Aussies who did that and ended up being beaten by the biggest margin ever, or something like that.

French team have been fined $10 000 for crossing the halfway line and getting too close to the haka.

What a bloody farce!!!! I thought they were brilliant in accepting and returning the challenge.

Oh ok, I vaguely remember someone doing it a few years back. Have there only been 2 occasions not counting the "haka" from other teams?

I wouldn't know, but I don't like Kapo o pango (the version of haka that they used at the final) I prefer Kamate (the one that they did at the end, all be it a rushed version of it without the actual movement). In any event, I cannot recall a haka with a team circling the All Blacks performing it. Might have happened, though.

I get goosebumps when I see the haka but what the French did brought tears to my eyes. I have the video now from sandmanm34 and will look at it now but i was sure when I watched it that they stopped just short of the line.

That's stupid. The IRB are really getting pathetically biased now. The haka is not sacrosanct.

And the game had not started yet, so why should they be penalised? Pathetic.

Next time France play the All Blacks they should go and sit on the bench and wait for the haka to be done before walking on the pitch.

no not a team circling the All Blacks but standing in a circle on their side whilst the AB performed theirs. That i reckon would be a snub of the AB and the challenge.

why not fine a team who takes long to come out of the tunnel or come onto the field etc?

I agree that teams should wait it out on the sidelines/benches until these pansies finish their fairy dance, as clearly they must be extremely fragile!

What a complete farce!

To me, the IRB are over stepping the bounds of their mandate which is to over see the game of Rugby on an international level. Poor show, you biased, control junky, pricks.

+1. Pathetic but what did you expect from the IRB...? ;) True to form they are...

Agreed. WTF?!?!? **** the IRB!!

What happened to the breakaway F1 group? Was there not a breakaway ATP group too? What about FIFA and a another group? Could we have a breakaway IRB faction one day?
