How would one recover data off a hard drive that fails everytime the computer? Its a fairly old 15gb,5200rpm,Fujitsu hard drive, windows does not pick it up and occasionally the bios will pick it up but after a few seconds it either fails or just makes it so I can't use my master drive, meaning I cant start windows..

any advice welcome

try and connect the drive as a slave to another PC. Also, with older PCs that display this kind of problems, it generally means that your power supply unit is not providing enough power. try disconnecting some of the other devices.

I know I have a big enough power supply since 1 of of cd roms were already unplugged and I unplugged a HDD when I plugged it in, and I know the hard drive does still work, cause you can still hear it spin. And bwana, how do you boot off minipe?

Just pop it in your cd-rom and either set it up in your bios to use that as your first boot device. Can probably boot it off a usb stick too but I havent yet tested that.
