Cyborg R.A.T. 7 mouse review

The plural of 'mouse' is 'mice'. Please, Mr Derrick Cramer, refrain from bastardising the English language any further.

I bought this thing just because it looked so way out... BUT THAT WAS OVER A YEAR AGO.... Jeez Cramer, What rock you been under? We don't need reviews on old gear!!!!!

Well, Mr Derrick Cramer can ask you to stop barking up the wrong tree and acting like gods gift to the english language. You've just shown how ignorant you are. A bit of googling would tell you that both 'mice' and 'mouse' are right.

The author can ask such a question, however, usage of the word 'could' might serve you better. While I do not follow any deity, I do believe that when refering to a supernatural being in such context, one should distinguish between proper and common nouns. I could dissect your post further, but let us not get into that.

The point of my original post, which obviously has eluded SquirellyWrath and yourself is that, although there is a place for headless nouns in the English language, they are generally avoided when possible. In this case, although technically a valid alternative, the use of that plural is inadvisable in written form, lest you prefer we all sound like hillbillies before the year 2100.

Yeah, 'mouses' won't be found in any proper English dictionary!

Even Microsoft Word would've corrected you if you chose to use 'mouses'.
Here are suggested alternatives by MS Word:
Mousse
Mousses
Mouse
Mousers
Moses
Mousse's
Muses
Moues
Mousses'

As for the mouse, it looks awesome, but I would hate to clean it.

I doubt that the mouse buttons would loosen up to register easier, because the mice that I've owned remained the same until the day that I had to replace the buttons.

I would love to get a detailed/professional review on mice, like HardwareSecrets are doing on PSU's. Nowadays many brands just sell their crap due to good marketing.

This is a tough one, because there really is no official ruling on this usage yet. Computer companies usually avoid this problem by using the phrase "mouse devices" instead. I would advise the same strategy if you mention the equipment in a formal paper, article, etc.

Jeeez talk about a late review. I have had mine for ages. :p

With regard to this little critter, it is hands down the best gaming mouse I have owned. I have the G5 and had the G9 and the RAT feels far superior. It is nice and sturdy.

The customization is great. Well worth the price IMO.

What's got your balls in a knot?

A simple - I'm sorry, I made a boo-boo would have sufficed, and actually let everyone move on :/.

As for that mouse, it looks like a transformer, but awesome piece of tech!

I own the RAT 9 (RAT 7 + wireless) and love it. However, it has some serious issues.
The sensor itself has built-in positive acceleration. Not much, but enough to annoy a gamer that does not like acceleration.

Then its also picky about the surface you use it on, using the official CYBORG mouse pad, I still get "dead spots" where it does not move (its like the sensitivity goes way down).

The mouse lift is also an issue. It only needs to lift a tiny bit before it stops registering the surface. Quite annoying.

It's a really sexy, well built and solid mouse, but I regret buying it and would not recommend it to be honest.

That's seriously bad for a mouse costing over R 1 000. How do you manage to love it and regret buying it at the same time?

I have been burned by really stupid overpriced mouses before.

I used to have an MS mouse with a couple of side buttons and it was fantastic... regret not McGuyvering the cable when it finally broke. So now I have a couple of classic Microsoft Opticals worth ~R 100 -- enough for a lifetime :)

LOL. Mouses and mice are both acceptable. Both listed in Oxford English and Merriam-Webster dictionaries.

I had a similar problem when I bought my new mouse, the Razer Imperator. I went from a Logitech MX400 that would work on pretty much any surface and then I "upgraded" to this 1 that was unable to track on the mouse pad I had used for years...You'd think these newer mice would be perfect with their million DPI tracking >.<

Moral of the story... Stick to Logitech. ;)

BAHAHAHAH the **** people fall for. Beyond a joke now!!!

Moral of the story. Never buy a wireless mouse for gaming. Was also considering the 9 but read bad stories about it.

What did they fall for?

Sure there's a market for posers that think because they have a shape shifting mouse they all of a sudden going to "own" but in reality it's just more marketing BS and people fall for it.
