If you don't have it already, get Proasm's MySignal. Will do the onscreen signal strength you're looking for. Should not be connected to the network when checking signal strength. Also assuming you're conencted via usb to the modem. Best used with laptop while on the roof

Assuming Win XP. No port setup needed.

    1. MyWireless modem has to be connected to pc via usb, NOT ethernet You can switch back to ethernet after signal testing
    2. Don't know whether MySignal requires user/pass when testing for signal only. If so, give your Sentech user/pass
    3. Click the MySignal tab
    4. Click the yellow phone icon
    5. Signal strength will be displayed
    6. Click (red) phone icon when done

If you can't do (1), you're screwed, since MySignal doesn't work over ethernet. Most of the above is from memory, since I'm not connected via usb anymore
Checkout Proasm's MySignal page, for more info

Maybe try the WiFi forum, since it's totally different from MyWireless (this forum), but maybe revisit/rethink/restructure that question of yours before you venture into those forums

The original MyWireless software CD that came with your modem will show you the basic signal info over Ethernet. Just install the Sentech MyWireless dialer software that came with the PC.
    Boom....

Strange, I thought the MyWi modems came with a usb cable standard, ethernet as an optional extra. But, as Rodent said, the standard stuff will also give you an indication, but usb/MySignal is still the best way to test imo
