    I got that yesterday. Almost wanted to cry.

    Either way, been on BCS for almost a week now. My experience is that it's acceptable for a shaped uncapped product. I'm still deciding whether I'm going to drop it and move to Mweb or stick it out with the slightly slower speeds though. During off-peak hours, when Gold Uncapped is now supposed to be unshaped, I still get slower download speeds than I did with my VB account during peak times.

    Torrenting is basically impossible, though.

    Would love to be back on the VB backbone. Was on it for almost a year and it was flawless.

    Is anyone else's internet going on and off today, Cape Town area? Or is it my failing router?

    I'm on the IS backbone and no problems here in Plumstead... 384k going full steam ahead today.

    Just had some issues with BCS myself. been having sporadic periods of no internet connectivity all night. Also based in Cape Town.

    Probably just a network fault somewhere. Not too worried, as I know MrBeep will sort it for us. :3

    Also, MrBeep, thank you for responding at this time of night. It's much appreciated, but you really should take some time to relax as well every once in a while. You really deserve it for all your hard work. :P

    Hehe, thanks Graal!

    Cape Town seems to be the underdog of ADSL at this stage. We have some faults open with the upstream providers and Telkom. Most issues seem to be resolved now though

    Well, 2nd response for support suggested I change the router, which I did, resulting in no change. The other suggestion was to contact Telkom and get my port reset. Still busy summoning up the courage and patience to do that.

    Seems it's back. Doubting it's my router now. Internet has been slow but steady all day, soon as it gets to early evening though it's on and off, sometimes as often as every 5 mins. DSL light goes off along with the internet light on my dlink and then takes about 30-45 seconds to light up back to green. Restarted router and switch, made no difference.

    Your ADSL link is losing sync to the exchange.

    I would suggest calling Telkom on 10210 and logging an official fault with them.

    Thanks for checking it out. I think I'd rather stick with the bad internet for a while longer though then. I had my last Telkom injection only a few months ago, I don't think I'm ready for another just yet.
