I am trying to help someone sort their PC out. They have a WebAfrica ADSL account, and me use 3G. I receive the Remote Assistence e-mails, but when we try to connect, the following error message is displayed:

Remote Assistance connection could not be established because the remote host name could not be resolved. Please try again.

Both Win XP SP2.
I have switched of both firewalls, still no luck.
Remote assistence is enabled on both firewalls, and in both REMOTE tabs in SYSTEM.

HELP!

Nope... same problem...

I even checked the file that is mailed to me, the IP is correct. Also, the port is open on both machines...

We have tested this exact scenario, i.e. 3G to ADSL-connected PC before, so I'm not to sure what the problem could be.

Can you ping his PC from the 3G system?

Maybe try VNC?

Nope, can't ping.

Only using Windows FIrewall, which is switched off.
Using MS Anti Spyware, also switched off...

The other user had PC-CILIN running, which I was unaware off... Swithced it off, and it worked.

thanks
