Telkom Speed Checker Problems - EXCHANGE SPEED 10MB to 1MB

Hi Guys,

A few weeks ago, I ran a Speed check against the FLORIDA exchange in Roodepoort and it reported 10MB as the max speed, even broadband stats web site lists it as a 10MB exchange, however apon phoning Telkom for a line transfer to my new residence in Florida their updated/revamped speed checker only lists 1024 as the max speed?

Could this just be a coding issue? Forgetting the 0 in 100240, the problem is, the call centre seems to use the same software and they told me my 4MB will be downgraded to 1MB

Any advice?

Me too! I called them recently and they said my exchange is max 1024kb - I had a 4mb line just a couple of months ago... Some n00b pressed backspace when editing their software no doubt :confused:
 
Same problems. couple days ago all the numbers I checked had either 10 or 4, no the 10 is 4 and 4 is 1. not sure whats happening
 
same here, few weeks ago it said max was 4mbps now it's 384kbps? but i had a 4mbps line installed after i check it....
 
My line could only be upgraded +/- 5 months after the checker showed the exchange was 10Mbs capable, you just have to follow up on a monthly basis.
