Google linking user data across more services

Google is overhauling the way it treats user data, linking information across its array of email, video and social-networking services so that information gathered in one place can be used in another.

I'll start to panic when they sell my information to other parties, as long as they just use me as a product to sell ads I'm fine with it.

I would be happier if they gave me a purge function under dashboard where I cold flush all the data they have on me with a single click.

There is an option to disable search history....hidden away somewhere...

Though the most effective manner of managing google is to purge cookies and disable Java scripting.

Its in dashboard clear as daylight, so not hidden. What I want is a one click delete everything from history to Gmail and including my Google+ profile and Picasa images. Like in clean out all my data purge.

Oh for those that think enough is enough there is an interesting How-to on leaving the Google world at Gizmodo

Just remember that if its free, you are the product and not the customer. Your info will be traded and not just used, by some of the replacement services.

So who is planning on ditching Google?

I for one think that Chrome is the best browser ever, GMail is the Shizniz & You Tube is off the chains..
They've got me by the long and curlys and every alternative out there doesn't match up..

    It's a hard choice to make/

For a news site, gizmodo is incredibly biased.. who would want to use a news site which clearly has an agenda.
