Official Super Rugby Thread 2012

Not sure what the game plan will be.....

Kicking away possession against the Chiefs will come back to haunt the Sharks.

Chiefs will probably deal with the high ball better than the Stormers did.

Its going to take an almighty effort by the Sharks to beat the Chiefs..... the guys have built up steam and are confident....

we just need a good ref on the day.

Well what freddy did very well imo on Saturday was he kept turning the stormers around. I also do not think the Chiefs will mind the Sharks Kicking at them as they are not afraid to run it up.

I am guessing the sharks know this and will kick for touch or do do the little dab kicks as the lions did against them.

If the Sharks Scrum and forward pack can dominate it will only be half the battle as the Chiefs backline can even on the backfoot produce the goods.

Kicking game works well if the kicks are well directed.

Freddy needs to tire out the Chiefs players by trying to keep them in their own half / 22.......

Problem is that NZ'ers dont mind running the ball from anywhere on the field.

Sharks forwards will need to bring their A game.... smash them up front ( which is what they are really good at ) and keep possession.

Forwards have been absolute monsters in recent games and the trend will have to continue for the boys to have a sniff......

I have been impressed with Freddy... he seems to have grown as a player compared to the last time he played for the Sharks....

I went Chiefs by 9.

As a Capetonian I both want the Sharks to get destroyed but also want a South African team to win.

*confused*

Would be cool if the Sharks won, but by like 1 point or a penalty try that is referee'd incorrectly. So everyone knows the Chiefs are the rightful winners but the Sharks won by luck.

Hahahaha, I am sure there are many South Africans that feel that way.

The thing is if the Sharks win we will not hear the end of it for yeaaaaars, but the same would have been said about the stormers (but we all know they are chokers thus no worries really) and the Bulls.

Ja - I know some fans that have 2007, 2009 and 2010 tattooed to their chests

ROFL :D

Still, I'll be shouting for the Sharks. If they can pull this off...well wow...it would be one of the best sporting achievements ever.

I would feel so mush better if the Sharks get thumped big time by the Chiefs. It will take away some pain from last weekend and off coarse silence some of you okes. :D

Well you know what to do. Just go out and swap that Crusaders Jersey you have for a chiefs jersey and I am sure you can have a ball of a time come Saturday :)

Well, if that happens, just imagine the hiding the Stormers would have gotten.

BS

Take a one way cable car ticket and bungee from the top without a cord.

I've had some serious LOL's at your comments bud :D

Wonder where the sharks will plug in Lambie? I do not think anyone would like to take Freddy out of the no. 10 slot at the moment.

I also think Plumtree might actually "rest" some of the players like Bismarck, Alberts, etc by playing them from the bench.

Honestly I don't think we can afford to rest those players. Even on a bad day they play better than most.

As for the centre/fullback, my personal feeling is that Bosman and JP will be 12 and 13, Lambie will be fullback with Viljoen on the bench. I know it's not really fair, but I always somehow feel our team is weakened when Bosman is on :(

...they cheated in a way to the final.

How do you figure that?

Also, I've just finished reading the thread. You Stormers supporters are terrible losers. Hoping a New Zealand team beats a South African team in a final? Sad. Every Sharks supporter I know would have cheered the Stormers on if they had made it to the final against the Chiefs. I guess Sharks supporters are just better human beings. :)

Ignore him. He's just a sore loser and an extremely bad sport. You're wasting your time and energy on him.

Had the Stormers won, he's have been thrashing it down our throats. Although he'll argue that he is an ardent supporter, regrettably he only brings repute to his kind. Pity.

When last did you win anything?

Currie Cup - 2001
Super Rugby - never

Dammit, StevieG, you are really supporting losing teams... when last did your football team win the League?

Currie Cup is going to be awesome! So many talented players that will not be touring with the boks.

I hope HM will let the guys play decent rugby and not the way we played against the Poms, otherwise the AB's are going to run us over in the tournament.

:erm: The way we played against the Pomms was good. Tight up front sucking in defenders and then letting the ball go wide. If Steyn kicked for posts with more accuracy we would have thrashed the Pomms by 10+ every game.

The ABs play the same style of rugby. Forwards get you onto the front foot, carrying the ball up and then when it has been taken through the phases it is swung to down the line. The ABs ball handeling is superior and that is why they score more tries and look like they are doing something magical.
