Thread: Metal Gear Solid HD Collection, what does it not include?

Default Metal Gear Solid HD Collection, what does it not include?

Hi guys, I've been a fan of MGS since metal gear solid came out on the playstation one. I didn't get to play any of the other ones as I didn't have a ps2 or ps3 but I do have a ps3 now and I am very keen on getting the HD collection.

The question I'd like to know is, which games are in the series that is compatible with ps3 but not included in the HD collection? Because I wan't to play them all

Think only the first one isn't included.

You can see what's included here:

Cool, and last question, is MGS4 and peace walker the same thing?

No. MGS4 is Guns of the Patriots

    Thanks.

BTW if anyone's interested in the game. Kalahari is so far the cheapest I've found it on for R329

That's tempting. It doesn't include the first MGS though. From what I hear I'll be missing out on a lot.

My advice: read the story for the first game on the wikia or wikipedia and then play the rest

MGS was one of the best games I ever played, and one of the very few that stands out for me from my early years. Excellent story (though it confused the heck out of me), good dose of action with a lot of sneaking on the side

EDIT: you can always 'get' the first game and then play it on an emulator

Also have a look at the MGS 1 graphic novel. Tells the story of part 1 very nicely

If I remember correctly, you can still get MGS on the PSN network for something like R90. It's worth it if you are a hardcore MGS fan

It sucks that they left out the original and, arguably, the best MGS I was really looking forward to playing it on my X360.

Haha. Get a PS3. I really have no idea why people buy 360s. The PS3 has so many awesome exclusives.

Awesome I didn't even think of looking there. May be something to calm me down until the hd collection arrives

I wonder how you'll have to fight preying mantis, since you had to plug the controller into the 'second controller port' on the original psx
