Tim Cook donates R765 million to charity

In this way Cook appears to be more like Microsoft founder Bill Gates rather than his predecessor at Apple, who had previously said he opposed giving away money.
Thats why Steve died! What goes around comes around!

Isnt he just giving Jobs money away?

Hypothetically speaking if Jobs was still around he woudn't be CEO and would not have donated the money.

Steve 'left' the money for Cook to donate.

Bill Gates donates $6 Billion
Tim Cook donates $100 Million

Bill Gates wins. Fatality.

Well bill gates had years and years to do that,so give him a chance and maybe he'll catch up in time.

Great move from tim cook though, giving us all less reasons to not like apple....who knows I may buy another iphone one day after all.

Although it is good to support charities, why don't companies give their staff an extra bonus? NOW THAT will make loyal employees.

Funny that all the lefty hippies loved Steve Jobs and love Apple but yet he went against all they stand for :D

Steve was a self-centered, arrogant douche who always believed he's right, no matter what common sense or the facts said. He would just flat-out lie about anything and anyone who opposed him to achieve his goals. Sounds exactly like your typical leftist to me...

And yet R383 million of that was from the RED campaign which Steven jobs started. It also not clear when the rest of the money was given to stanford, but since it was around the issue of cancer, its likely that it was when steve was still alive; he didnt die that long ago.

Tim Cook didnt give the money, Apple did. The wording is misleading. Tim just announced what was given in the last while.

Way to much is unknown to jump to the conclusion everyone is coming to.

they should've given it to foxconn and told them to improve the lives of the suicidal labourers making their iproducts 16 hours a day

LOL, trust me Steve is turning in his grave either way.

Up next, Apple change their policy to allow charity organizations to place apps in the market that allow you to donate funds....

Don't need to know him to know that. Just looking at how he parked in handicapped spots and refused charity among other things is enough for me to make up my mind about him, lets not even start with the rest of the crap he did.

Not a bad idea!

Solves the donate-by-SMS short code spam problem, as well as the CredCard security concerns or not having a PayPal account...

As my iTunes account is not linked to my CC, only using prepaid iTunes vouchers...

I'm sure the laborers who make all other electronics at foxconn are paid western salaries then...

It is difficult to pin down exactly what it is about Apple that makes their detractors so mind numbingly stupid on average.
