Egreat Media Player
Good Afternoon Gents
Just saw on www.kalahari.com an Egreat Media player going for R499.95. Seems like a really good price. HD player with a remote. It is apparently their deal of the week and will only be at the price for this week. What are your thoughts on this. Want opinions before I jump in.

Can only take "up to 1TB hard drive"....
Usually the RTD1055 based players do not have any network support (no WiFi, no LAN etc). Personally I would rather look at the Egreat R6AII which is based on the RTD1185 and costs about R150 more (see Comx etc.). The A C Ryan Play!On Essential which is also based on the RTD1055 costs roughly the same when it is on special at Esquire (R499) and offers much better software support and WiFi from what I remember.
Not sure if you noticed but the picture in the advert is a R6A not the R6B that is on offer.
Just don't be misled to think it has LAN as shown on both the advertisement and the product page, almost made that mistake this morning.
got a R2A-II and has no problems with it.
