What to do with an old Neotel router?

My Neotel contract has come to an end, and I've decided not to renew. So now I have this perfectly good Axesstel router, bristling with antennae, and nothing to do with it.

I'm thinking I'd like to repurpose it as a Wifi repeater, but I completely lack the necessary skills to pull it off.

Google being not much help here, I turn to you guys... anyone done anything similar with their old Neotel routers? Is this thing really just a fancy-looking paperweight, or is there life in the old gal yet?

Haven't done this, but if you can use it why not.
Are you on adsl now?

i had an old NeoFlexData router and the only thing i found out it could do after saying goodbuy to Neotel was live its life out as 4 port network switch !

I found that the old MyWireless modems made a good doorstop, perhaps the Neotel routers are not heavy enough.

Try and find out what chipsets it has. If you can get some custom firmware on it, might well be useful as your next router!

Am using mine as a wireless Access Point and sure works very well. I love the MAC address functionality (e.g. allow only pre-configured addresses to connect) and the fact that should there be a power outage (Eskom...grrrr) you still have about 2 hours or so while the router runs on the backup battery :)
