There will not be a charge appart from usage that will still be billed. If it is a individual account, you can just request a Vodacom Shop or customer care to generate a quote to prepaid and you sign and they process. Easy Peasy.
Now why you loer en kyk gelyk?
Is ek miskien van goud gemake?

Thereafter is there a period you will have to wait to upgrade from prepaid to a normal contract (with device)?

If you change the 4u contract to prepaid...then you will have to wait 6 months before being able to go onto a normal contract again with device. If this is what you want to do..then rather request a migration to the package that you want the device on...then once you are on the new package you can do a normal upgrade with the deal of your choice.

Yes, the second option seems much better. Thanks.

So this sounds like something I'm thinking of doing. OC please advise if it apllies to me as well. MY contract expires soon which I will cancel and move to prepaid. Once a phone that I really want comes out I will go back onto contract. Would the 6 month period apply in this case as well. I have another contract with VC will still be running in this period, if that means anything.

Hello MOwrt. Yes...it will apply to you aswell. The rule of thumb is...if you convert a contract to prepaid...six months must pass before that same number can be converted back into a contract again. It has got to do with billing and archiving reasons.
