Why don't you get a wireless LAN card or USB dongle for the PC and do it that way. Much more convenient - about R 130,00

Then you still need a wirless AP, or you have to setup your PC as an AP (or ad-hoc network), which isn't easy if you're using an older operating system.

Go to any local small PC store and they'll be able to sell you a cable for < R50. It shouldn't be a problem whether it's cross-over or not unless you have an oldish PC. If you're unsure you can check the wire colours on the two plugs. They should have a slightly different order on each end.

You should also be able to get from your big PC shops, PC Mania, Incredible Connection etc, but they'll most likely charge more than R50. It's a high-markup product. Material wise a 3m cable costs me R10. Heck even a Telkom Direct store could probably sell you a cable.

+1, the easiest way out if you don't have a buddy to make one up for you.
