Google’s DropBox competitor might launch in April

Ok I'm not trying to say that the sky is falling on our heads... you know the idea in a child's story when the hero becomes all power full and he turns to the dark side. well doesn't this give you that eurking felling that something is happening out there in the universe.
I wonder if the jedis are going to stand for this.

If its on the 1st I wonder how many people will bite?

Joke is Gmail was launched on the 1st of April 2004, I remember it clearly as I tried to convince some people at the office about the new free email from Google. Well it was beta and invite only but no one wanted my invites.

I can't wait. Seemless logging in and syncing across google sites. I signed up for Dropbox but haven't really used it much. Just the sheer ease of the google service will make me use it.

The thing that always stopped me from uploading these files to these free cloud storage services was the fear they may close down or perhaps data breaches. +1 for the new Google service

Dropbox storage is too expensive apart from the free 2GB... i already bought 20gb for my Gmail account so I'm already paying for my cloud service anyway.

Google Drive will apparently provide users with 1GB of free cloud storage, with additional options becoming free in the future.

I'd love cloud-storage integration with all the other Google services I currently use. In this regard Google wins. But I have 22GB free storage with Dropbox, so Google Drive's 1GB isn't going to fly...

I have a 50gig Dropbox account and I backup all my critical stuff to the account.

I would definitely consider moving to google.

big deal, Ubuntu one gives you 5GB free storage. Music streaming to your phone etc

the only thing that stops me from using any of them is the bandwidth costs in SA.
