I just ran out of data, logged into the 8ta portal to load up another 2+1 package, only to find it is missing. I could have sworn I read an article on MyBB that the promotion was extended till the end of May.

I decided to search the article after I loaded the 500mb for R120 bundle. And indeed, that is exactly what it says. Also, it is not yet the end of March (in the event that they suddenly shortened the promotion again), and I've purchased 2+1 bundles during this month already.

So right now I'm feeling FURIOUS and ripped off. Does anyone have any clue what's going on???

I bought 2+1 earlier today via the credit card option on the 8ta site.

My account is post paid and thus it works for me to just load purchases onto the account and budget for it at the end of every month, so I log into the self-service portal and select my bundle from a drop-down menu. But the 2+1 is missing there now. It's just aggravating because I can't afford downtime tonight so I didn't have time to get suckered into pre-paying for it by trying to find out what other options are available. Well that and Telkom/8ta deserves every disgruntled backlash they get for their past sins.

What happens if you try from your device/phone?

On my active promo GoBig menu is available.
When this menu disappeared: after you bought standard 500MB bundle or before?
I think your card has been reset to MTN roaming (default), you should call customer centre and revert to non-roaming before loading bundle.

Hi PsyLent!

Please advise if this is still a problem. PM us your 8ta and contact details so we may investigate if need be.

Can you add this to your contract SIM? Small print says something about needing to get another SIM for this promotion..

I'd be stoked to just add this to my existing voice contract :)

Hi Budza!

The 2+1 GB promo is for prepaid data users only.

:(

Wow... so people who sign up are penalized?!

Pisses me off.

When contract expires, I'm going back to prepaid.

On prepaid, you can hop around as much as you like, following the deals. I've got no idea why they don't just make them available on contract too- retain the long term users

All the MNOs are guilty of this.

Are you sure?
I have an Internet 5 Promo contract, and can see both the 2+1 and 60+60Gb bundles on onnet.8ta.com.

Calm down, I think the rep is mistaken in this case :D
My experience of the Promo bundles is that anyone who is locked to the 8ta network has access to them, regardless of whether they are postpaid or prepaid.
I have 3 8ta SIMs:
1 is an Internet 5 Promo (and therefore locked to the 8ta network)
1 is a "locked" prepaid sim.
1 is a normal prepaid (not locked)

The first 2 can get the promo bundles, the last one cannot.

Hi there

This was not possible before. Product Development are busy with this and will advertise accordingly. Apologies for not trying to replicate the query as we just assumed that the status quo remained.
