Sorely tempted by this - played with one for a few minutes today (in Melbourne at the moment), and could get it for around R5700. But I've got an S2, so don't really need an upgrade, and the S3 and other new phones will come soon-ish. So yes, the rational part of the brain is saying "of course you shouldn't buy it" - but other parts are telling me otherwise...

Very, but I suppose a quad-core will tend to do that. Sense 4 looked good too. The hardware is very sexy - super slim & light, and not really much bigger than my S2. Even though it's got an extra cm or so of screen, it's only slightly larger - they've wasted very little space around the screen.

HTC One's design choices, particularly why the smaller capacity battery.
The most controversial quote of the day came when HTC's vice president of phone strategy Bjorn Kilburn said that the company had rejected models with giant 3000mAh batteries similar to the one attached to the Motorola Razr Maxx.
Kilburn said consumer research had shown that buyers prefer smartphones between about 8mm and 10mm in thickness nowadays. A strapping, strap-on battery threatened to bust that limit.
"We experimented with putting in a lot more battery, making the device thicker, but consumers don't want to buy it," Kilburn said. "So we spent a lot of time finding other ways [to maximize battery life] than the brute force approach."
I came. I saw. I concurred.

Sprint's phone has two distinguishing physical features the AT&T model lacks: a kickstand, which cleverly tucks into the back of the phone when not in use, and a dedicated camera button.
