Last night I tried to set up a friend's router to his modem. I managed to get everything working, his wife's laptop could connect wireless to the modem.
The problem is that his computer couldn't connect to the modem via LAN cable:wtf:

I'm totally bowled out by this:confused:

I used his computer to access and set up the modem (via cable), but after it was completed and the modem rebooted the connection was lost. I unplugged everything, restarted everything. Still no connection. Wireless to the laptop worked fine.
What on earth could the problem be?

(I can't remember what modem he got, it was some trendnet 150mbps modem)

is this what you mean?

Because that is the way it was...

No. On your network card, check your IP settings. it should be set to, Automatically Assign. Hope this helps.
