Thread: Weird issues with Vodacom Service

Default Weird issues with Vodacom Service

    Hey Guys,

Thought that i should post here and see if anyone has had these issues....

So, a few days back, i tried to make a call in the evening, and the dial tone would come up, the person on the other side answered, and then after about 5 seconds, just went blank... So i tried again, and this time it was dead quiet from the moment they answered...

So i got my mums phone, and tried, exactly the same thing...

The my dad started complaining about a similar issue...

We can't even call the customer care line, or voice mail... but the weird thing is this is only an issue when im in my neighborhood, or nearby, because from work, or from my girlfriends place, its a non issue...

No its gotten to the point where anytime i call anyone, its rings until they pick up, and then dead..

So yesterday, on the way to work, i kept trying to call Vodacom Voicemail service, and it kept doing the same thing, until i got about 2 - 3 km's from my house, thereafter it works fine.

We all on Vodacom, all using blackberries, and i stay in Lambton Germiston...

ANy ideas, or could one of the Vodacom Reps help? or would it be best to call Vodacom Customer queries??

One of my corporate clients notified me of this exact same problem and they are located in Germiston. Power Street. Is this close to you? I have notified Vodacom Corporate and requested that they send somene out to that area and investigate. I will post here once I have a response from them.

I only submitted my request to them at about 7 this morning...so will hopefully receive a response and plan of action during the course of the day.

    He OC,

That is right near me, about 3 km's... i actually think it uses the same cell tower as me, the one across from Rand Airport...

Thanks a mil for the help.

    Good day.

Please be advised that the query has been handed over to our Radio planning department to conduct a trial at the location.

    Thanks for the update guys...

I think i was mistaken about it being the rand airport tower, because i tested my phone while i was driving past it, and it was working, but as soon as i got near my house, it was dead...

And it seems to have gotten worse... now it doesn't ring at all, but still says connected eventually... very weird...

Thanks again for all the help.

I am sure it will get resolved soon. This long weekends do tend to mess with turn around times though. One of my other clients had a similar problem at her house and Vodacom resolved it within a week. Lets hope this one also gets resolved in a similar time frame. I am not at work so cant check if a update has been mailed to me.

No, not yet. I tested it this morning with my client and the problem is ongoing. Requested feedback on the ref number this morning.....waiting for a reply.
