R99 for 2GB - the new mobile data standard?

I just went around to the Autopage store in Kimberley to get me the R199pm deal which includes a HP 630 laptop, 3G dongle and 2GB MTN data per month. The store clerk showed me another deal they are currently running for 2GB MTN data at R99 per month.....we haven't seen a lot of mobile data pricing decrease announcements with the new undersea cable coming on-line within the next few weeks and Telkom's 30% reduction in IPConnect, so I guess this will probably become the new mobile data pricing after a while.

What do you think?
 
Let's hope that this is the beginning of a new standard of not getting shafted for mobile data
 
Should make available to prepaid as well.
2GB @ R99 is enough for me for the month just for business purposes.
 
If they make this available to prepaid customers I'll switch. I'm currently with 8TA but I'm using MTNs network 99% of the time (the 1% is when I forget to switch).
 
I travel in EC rural areas mostly and only MTN and Vodacom 3G rules there.
Voda mostly though, but either way I have both sims :)
 
I was just asking this in another thread as well!

On VC prepaid a 1GB bunlde is R279! THATS CRAZY! Really!

How can prepaid be nearly 3X the price for half the data! I can't believe it!
 
nice too see. but standard would be to offer it to prepaid. i don't want to be on contract for data.

MTN is a master player in advertising on TV irrelevant or well known for years features like *141# aimed to keep existing customers in good shape and... away from competitors.

Two years data contract is too long and you will overpaid on the end.

Is this deal still on? I saw a pamphlet this morning and it says it ends on 6 May or while stocks last.
Awesome deal isn't it? R199 pm including 2gig data for a laptop?
