    Just got this email from my neighbor today....

    · This program allows you to swop all your current household down-lights and incandescent globes for new approved energy efficient EcoGlobe LED replacement – Saving over 85% in power consumption.

    · i4SBF has commissioned and accredited skilled installation teams nationally to provide and install new globes – FREE OF CHARGE.


    · i4SBF provides all our customers with a 3 year Swop-Out Warranty on all our products.


    · An additional FREE OF CHARGE supply and installation of shower heads, geyser and pool pump controllers will be supplied on request.

    All globes removed will be disposed of in an environmentally safe manner and certificates confirming disposal will be available on our website.

    A little while ago some chap posted a link on FB about Eskom being at the Galleria mall in Toti offering this same service. Seems somewhat legit though I wouldn't just let anyone.

    Did you add the LED part? I see only CFL on their brochure.

    Eskom is busy with initiatives like this. We have a similar one going at work. That being said I wouldn't be surprised if someone is setting up a scam based on it.

    Raising the dead here,

    But is there a difference between the CFL? and LED globes in terms of usage? I see CFL globes at say 11W and the same W as LED globes - 11W. The obvious difference is the cost. Also, the difference btwn an LED 10W floodlight and an 11W CFL globe (outside light)? I can't note any benefit going to LED? Thanks

    You're going to the wrong shops then I bought (admittedly crappy) led down lighters about 4 years ago
