What is the official process for cancelling with Cybersmart? Takes at least a week to get a response by email....if you're lucky.

Cancelling is quite easy. I just phoned the callcentre and told them to cancel it. Boom... Done... You have to wait till the end of the month for it to be official... During that time they will call you to confirm that you really want to cancel and make you an offer you can refuse :-)
On the 1Mbps uncapped account. Been having inconsistent speeds, lately dropping to as low as 7kB/s via DDL or torrent. Browsing is slow and sometimes throws me the "Server closed the connection" error. I assume it has something to do with that 40 tcp connections at a time, so that only 40 people can browse the internet at a time, but I'm not sure. Emailed Cybersmart a few minutes ago and will wait for their response.
Another thing. My direct downloads die frequently, usually at night. Sometimes download speeds drop steadily from 70kB/s to 20kB/s, or even stay at 60kB/s and then the download dies unexpectedly.
I hope this is just a case of Cybersmart still tweaking the system, because if this is the kind of performance one can expect from the final product, then I highly recommend against anyone joining their uncapped package. If this cannot be fixed, then I may consider changing back to my 15GB capped package.
Also noticed just yesterday that the ADSL usage page on the Cybersmart site now indicates a 300GB per month cap with data carry over. Not so bothered by this since I don't intend to download more than 100GB per month ever, but I hope someone can shed some light on this.
Here are a couple of MyBB speed tests I did just a few mins ago, all tests done immediately after each other. Check the fluctuation:
I'll give more feedback when I receive a response from Cybersmart. Time for bed.![]()
My friend sent me a screenshot of his data usage last week. An entire days downloads he got 1.8GB on a 1Meg line. He says it's been like that since he got it a few weeks prior. He is planning on switching ISP's soon because it doesn't seem to be improving.
For the last week mine's been bad too. (384k uncapped) General web browsing is fine, but direct downloads (rapidshare) are mostly less than 5kb/s - even timing out quite a bit. Bit disappointed I switched to uncapped but hoping the product improves.
Any futher feedback?
Is the performance still bad?
Thanks,
D.
Mine's been great over the past couple of days. Averaging about 80-100kB/s. I think I'm gonna stick with the account a little longer.
Yeah big improvement recently. Still not as good as capped and less consistent, but good enough to make me think it was a worthy move. Especially since I'm gonna have 2 extra tablets connecting to my wifi.
I'm thinking of moving to a 4mb uncapped line with cybersmart, how good is there service compared to afrihost or other ISPs.
Apparently cybersmart doesn't shape or throttle there lines and only incorperates something called equalization.
I've been on cybersmarts uncapped a few months ago and my experience was horrible, i had inconsisted speeds and couldn't P2P at all.
