    Hi Orkoza, is this simply a problem with the setup and will it be fixed in the future? Will I have the same problem tonight if I download some Windows Updates I held back. I also mailed you my System ID. Hope you can fix this.

    Dont worry about the usage on the package, its just a delay between IS and @lantic's systems, if you use after 18:00 and before 06:00 weekdays it will not go on your account. On the 21st of each month when the cap resets, the bolt on usage will be deducted from your capped account.

    As per my original post and as other users have been reporting, I experience the following issues:

    1) The usage only goes towards the "bolt on usage" after 8pm, not 6pm.
    2) There is no automatic cutover - ie: I have to manually re-connect at 8pm for it to count the usage as "bolt on usage". I can not just leave the connection connected, even if my downloads start after 8pm. So If I connect at 7:59PM and leave it running the whole night, it will not count toward "bolt on usage" as I connected before 8pm.

    I hope these issues above can be resolved, because as per the post on Myadsl, this does seem to be a global issue amongst all users.

    Thanks for the help, and the phone call; it is appreciated. The only problem at this moment is that you do not know how much of your cap is used. You can determine it by visiting www.saix.net, but you have to count it manually. Hopefully they will update their systems soon. Still very nice product to use.

    I'm not happy with the reply I got......

    Totally missing the point? Its a day later and the 0.61GB of usage I used about 20min after 6pm last night is still showing as Package usage. Now even if I would to use 10GB the whole month between 6pm - 8pm that means I would hit my gig4gig cap of 10GB and then what will happen?

    Must I just assume that the end of the month the billing will be right because for me I can almost put my money where my mouth is and say that I will be billed R15 per for the 10GB I used.

    Here is my usage.

    Total Usage 12.64 Gb
    Package Usage 0.61 Gb
    Bolt On Usage 12.03 Gb


    Other than that you can see my usage that I used after 8pm after I have reconnected. That said to just leave it and then debit order fails cause of overcharging your bank statement is unusable for 3 months for credit.

    Maybe I'm just grabing at straws here but it feels like this might happen.

    I am also worried about this. I asked this to the person from Atlantic who phoned me, and he assured me that it will not be a problem. I am however worried. I have a Gig4Gig Gold option. The first 1Gb is free, thereafter it is R45 per Gig. I am worried that Atlantic will add "another" Gig to my Package when I download more than 1 Gb on Uncapped. Also, I am not sure why they are not able to split the data. With the technology today it does appear strange. It is difficult to determine how much of my Package data is still available. I was told I can log in to saix and determine this by time connected, but doing this manually over the period of a month will become quite a arithmetic challenge. I would feel much better if they updated this at least every 24 hours.


    It also appears as if my connection after 8 is logged into the uncapped and after 6 is logged to my Package. I am going to log in tonight after 8 to see what happens tomorrow.

    So I did connect after 8pm and all my usage was on bolt on. The usage for me during 6pm-8pm was in package usage. That is what concerns not the after 8pm. Ohh and another thing is will my usage automatically switch over 6pm or MUST you establish a connection again after 6pm.

    I just conected now. 7:04pm 29/05/2012

    I will see what happens and what the usage will show tomorrow. God forbid its a disaster cause then I'm going to be cross cause they ensured me that this will not happen.

    lol, it will show as "package usage".

    Just disconnect anytime before 8pm (and you can reconnect immediately again). Then wait around 15 minutes before checking your usage. Your "package usage" amount will go up, not your "bolt on usage"...

    I'm sure this is what is going to happen but I want to see when they bill me. I'm connecting @ 6:15pm and disconnecting 6am every day and weekends I will be connected the whole weekend ect ect. So if I get a HUGE bill or get capped I know they are messing it up so badly but lucky I have a copy of the stuff I signed and the product I took that say it will switch 6pm at night. Surely my connection logs will show this too if I am never connected during the day.

    Without a doubt. The logs do show. If you log into your account at www.lantic.net, you will find the logs there, and it clearly shows the time of your internet activity. I am quite interested to see what will happen. I am also logging in after 8pm to see if it makes a difference.

    Hi Guys,

    Sorry I did not notice this before posting my original post:

    My initial period of usage on my account was from 14 to 20 MAY. (Periods reset every 21st of the month)
    In that period, I kept to downloading between 6pm and 6am (except for the morning of the 16th where I had put a wrong setting in, and downloaded around 4gb during "peak time")

    I just checked and I have been billed for 9gb of usage (R135 total). I am not sure where the extra 5gb came from, but I do remember that at the end of the 20th, my usage was on 8.29gb (I had actually watched this climb to 5.2gb and then 8.29gb during downloads between 6pm-8pm). So I am guessing I was charged as per the "package usage" amount.

    Just putting the warning out there - I was clearly charged for the usage that was reported in my "package usage", even though I downloaded between 6pm-6am.

    If any of you want to test the "theory" of whether you will be billed or not, please don't let your your "package usage" get too high. Rather let it go to 2 or 3 gigs, and then only connect manually after 8pm. If you get charged for those 2-3 gigs at the end of the month, it will be a lot less of an expense...

    As can seen here I did get charged to package usage for usage between 6pm-8pm but it looks like it did in fact automatically switch over. That said it wasn't exactly u8pm maybe like 8:40pm.

    I connected last night after 8 and watched some youtube videos. I am still very worried about the idea that they will "fix" the Package/Uncapped data at the end of every month. I am not in the mood to query my bill every single month
