Yes, it's true folks. :)

I picked up one from 8ta Canal Walk on Wednesday and couldn't believe the price. When I was walking out the shop, I kept looking in the bag if it is really the B683 that I've just bought.

Told a work colleague about the deal and he promptly drove there to pick up one as well. He is extremely happy with it and will be connecting a lot of IP cameras to it. (The B683 can handle 32 wireless connections).

Considering the fact that Vodacom sells it for R2000 & MTN sells it for R1975 & it's IMHO the best 3G router currently available in South Africa, R1198 is a fantastic price.

Go and get yours while there's still stock. ;)

You were not kidding. I got one today. It works like a charm. Getting 8ta 10 gigs tomorrow. I don't regret canceling my Adsl all of a sudden

Thank you, Sir! *bows*

It's the best 3G router currently on the market and solid as a rock.

You also won't regret getting the 8ta 10GB deal (hope you get great reception!) and it works flawlessly with the Huawei B683.

Enjoy!

What speeds are you getting on your wifi connections? And the set up, is it easy for a lay man?

I get about 4Mbps. I haven't gotten a chance to get the contract yet. I'll prob go over the weekend. Would the external antennae increase the speeds? does anybody have an idea? Where would I get it?

Depends on your current coverage/signal, PoyntingDirect.

I would be happy if I could get a constant 2Mbps at home with 8ta. :(

That is a good price. I need to upgrade my current 3G router in anycase.

Yup, even after one year, it's still a great price.

Just shows you what a bargain it was last year. ;)

*I'm still happily using mine, it is a seriously awesome router.

I have a LTE B2000 and B600 in mint condition... Both to go for R2000

Will these modems work with the telkom mobile service?

Both are unlocked...

B600 has MTN Sharelink firmware but I have used various simcards and they work fine...

B2000 is Vodafone but ive loaded standard Hauwei Firmware, supports all networks and LTE bands...
