Default Some help needed (D-link 2500U)

    Hi

I am looking for a firmware upgrade for my modem. I disconnects for no reason at random intervals. I checked the local d-link ftp and they have 1.57, i have that in but it still happens.
Now i came across this: http://www.bestweb.com.ua/en/blog/81...-or-error-auth
I see the d-link.ru site have the 1.58 firmware but it is not on the local one
What i would like to know if this will work in my modem, and what does the BRU in the firmware download link stand for

    My modem:

    Hardware ver D3
    Device Info
    Board ID: 96332
    Software Version: RU_1.57
    Bootloader (CFE) Version: 1.0.37-8.7
    Release Date: Aug. 02, 2010

    Tx

    kimbo:
Could you also post your ADSL stats here before you go and try to upgrade your firmware.

It could be that you're too far from the DSLAM to be able to handle a stable ADSL connection to begin with, in which case upgrading the firmware won't change anything.

With a 384kbps ADSL connection you shouldn't have any issues whatsoever. Your ADSL line is good for a stable 4Mbps down/512kbps up ADSL connection.

If you pick up your telephone and you hear static noise on it, then I'd suggest that you start logging faults as telephone line fault and not ADSL faults, because these faults are usually resolved faster.

If you don't hear any static noise on it, I'd suggest that you have a look at your ADSL filters too. You can start off by removing all telephones and filters, until it is just the ADSL modem that is directly connected (without a filter). If it still restarts, then resort to a firmware upgrade or RMA of the device.

I think the latest firmware can be found at:
    ftp://ftp.dlink.ru/pub/ADSL/DSL-2500U_BRU_D/Firmware/ in the RU_1.58 folder.
To other users: PLEASE TAKE NOTE THAT THIS FIRMWARE is just for Hardware version D !
Secondly, make sure to use Internet Explorer. The other browsers might work, but Internet Explorer usually works best.
