    Default Pc Upgrade For R2000

Got a guy who needs a new Pc. We have decided to keep his case and hard drive since getting a new hard drive would kill the budget and he can use his current case. He wants to do very light gaming on old games like Need for speed most wanted and call of duty 4.

I have confirmed that the Intel HD2000 can easily play Need for speed most wanted but I can not confirm that it can play Call of Duty 4, so I think a basic graphics card should be added. He also needs a new PSU since he's using some no brand 250w one, also his DVD-Rom doesn't work so need a new one of those.

He has a budget of R2000 so I have come up with the following:

    PSU: R222
    Thermaltake LitePower, 350w

    Motherboard: R689
    MSI A75MA-P35, FM1, AMD A75, 2x dual channel DDR3 1600

    CPU: R599
AMD - A6-3500 2.1 GHZ Tri Core APU Socket FM1

    Ram: R128x2=R256
    Transcend JM1600KLN-2G, JetRam, 2GB, DDR3-16003D

    DVD-ROM: R147
    Sony AD7260S-OB, 24x SATA , black , super-multl

    Total: R1913+R75=R1988.00

Can I do any better than this? Should I get a lower end CPU and get a better GPU?? Is there a better AMD equivalent for the graphics card??

Just remember that he'll also need a Windows license.

What does he currently have? Can't you reuse his old PSU & DVD-ROM?

Just take note that with the motherboard that you currently selected, he probably won't be able to reuse his old HDD/CD-ROM drive if they use IDE cables!

The GT520 is rather pathetic with regards to gaming, but at least it is better than the HD2000 of the G620.

Perhaps it would be best to look for a 2nd-hand PC instead of a new one.

He is using a no name brand 250w PSU, DVD-ROM doesn't work. His hard drive is SATA.

Those graphics cards are old generation compared to the GT520. I have seen a video on youtube that shows a GT520 on high settings but it's rather laggy.

I've worked it out using those parts, think I will go for that instead comes to about R2006

I think I will go for the AMD solution.

But perform better if I'm not mistaken and maybe cheaper.

Won't need Windows if he has it on old hard drive.
I agree with putting 4gb ram instead of 2.
