So what you're saying is there are 5000 rim-jobs on the line here...
If they sell RIM it will be split, handset division, patents and IP, and network division and right now I think patents would be the most appealing. The handset division isn't worth anything and I can't think of any company with many synergies to the network division. It would require a lot of reworking to get the network division to work with any other company's products. Samsung could definitely manage it though, or Apple.is it possible that if Google buys out RIM that they then can offer a BIS type service for Android?

Any company that receives the handset division would scrap it though, it's the main cause of the losses and all the other cellphone manufacturers have superior handsets in the first place, nothing to be gained from it. And of course the network depends on if they intend to still try keep RIM going or just cut their losses. But it would be the division to keep thoughWell first off they would bundle the patents and handsets... and that would sell.
Then they wouldn't sell the network off... they would just repackage it for other phones
