Default MTN planning capped BlackBerry packages from R14.95

MTN planning capped BlackBerry packages from R14.95

MTN is planning a range of new BlackBerry packages, starting at R14.95 per month, but with a cap on all accounts and R2.00 per MB out of bundle rates

    Update from MTN:

“MTN would like to note that the information that you have communicated on your online publication is grossly inaccurate and improper. MTN is gravely disturbed at the fact that you have attributed a statement to it without its consent or approval. We therefore request that you retract the statements or the story. Furthermore, MTN will make the necessary announcement to media when new developments around the BlackBerry Internet Service (BIS) occur” Serame Taukobong, Chief Marketing Officer at MTN SA.

Hmm, so much for "unlimited" internet on BlackBerry...
So is the R69 BIS option still unlimited?

R49.00 on Vodacom will get you 100Meg bundle and a out of bundle rate of R1.00 per meg (excluding prepaid and top up). Compared to MTN BIS @ R59.00 for 100meg cap that is a saving of R10.00 yes?
Now why you loer en kyk gelyk?

Since FNB Connect came along, I haven't paid a cent to MTN for data costs. 40c/Meg which I can buy with eBucks

:-) Blackberry Social Package.... how social can you get with only 10Mb?
and wotsup with the "Absolute Plan"? you can get 'normal' BIS for R59 "uncapped" or choose the Absolute plan for R59pm with only 100Mb? hmmm...

well... stupid question... Blackberry service, BB mail and BBM... does that count as data usage, or is it basically just On-net between Blackberry devices and BB network (especially BBM, or even browsing), so doesnt 'really' use MTN data?
IF so, then data billing or counting will only be for non-BB services?

    MTN, you are pathetic!

Wake the **** up! It's 2012 FFS, no need for caps of any sort!
If there has to be caps, make it 1GB minimum for R50...
