CPA and contracts

The mtn reception in my area is very poor.
We've contacted mtn at various points over the last few years. We have to stand in certain areas of the house to be able to hear the person on the other end.
We cannot even think of using data. My parents got themselves entry level smartphones but continousky complain that anything to do with the net takes forever.

Thing is mtn used to be the best of a bad bunch, vodacom is still not useable, however Cell C now have very decent coverage, is there a way to get out of the mtn contract. They can even have their phones back. We just want decent service.
Luckily I am at the end of my contract, but my parents still have a long way to go.
