Hi guys.. I finally got my ADSL line installed and my ISP purchased only to find out that the pixies came and killed my Billion 7300 RA.
From what I've read online, I'm not getting another Billion again.
So, what do you guys recommend?

D-Link DSL-2500U is one of the best straightforward ADSL modems you can buy. You'll need to buy a wireless router for more ports though, but as a modem it is the best you can get.

If you need Ethernet & Wireless - DLink 2750U (http://www.d-link.co.za/products/?pid=DSL-2750U)
Just make sure you upgrade to the latest Firmware before use.
Seconded! And as a MyBB member you can get a better deal here: http://www.tplink.co.za/

WA!
I am using the D-Link 2750U at the moment.
Initially I purchased the TP-Link W8960N as it is highly recommended in the forums, but I battled with it constantly disconnecting from the internet. Since buying and installing the D-Link all my problems are something of the past.![]()
jellievis, perhaps you should RMA that W8960N if you still have it.
I've seen quite mixed experiences the past few months with both the D-Link DSL-2750U and TP-Link W8960N, where they would either work flawlessly or they would act up horribly. Usually when the myBB user returned the device all the problems was solved though.
Even though I've seen mixed experiences for both of them, I'd still recommend them, because they're the best value for money and their ADSL noise margins are very good.
If I'm not mistaken, the Netgear DGN2200 also has very good ADSL noise margins, but it costs quite a bit more and you don't have all the advanced ADSL features (such as bridge mode) like that you get with the TP-Link or D-Link modems.
I think overall people have less issues with the DGN2200, BUT they often run into situations where they want to use bridge mode and then that modem does not support it...

Thanks guys. So, it's between the D-Link DSL-2500U, TP-LINK W8960N, DLink 2750U, and the Netgear DGN2200?
I'll look them up a little later![]()

D-Link 2750U.
The funny part is that the temporary replacement for my dead horse Billion is my friend's Billion that's more than a year older. lol

Does anyone know where I can get a D-Link 2750U? Most computer shops that I went to don't have stock, but can order at a price of R800!
Which Online-shops do you suggest as I am not that familiar with the whole idea of Online Shopping?
Pada,
Thanks for the input. I have made contact with the supplier some time ago and they are trying to help me sort out the problem. Hopefully I can get it up and running when it comes back as I believe it is a very good product.
