Thread: Good pc steering wheel?

  1. #1

    Default Good pc steering wheel?

Hey, im looking for a decent PC steering wheel for under R500. I heard the logitech momo is really good. Does any one want to get rid of theirs? Not too keen on the logitech formula force and those older models. Any other suggestions?

    Thanks.

The Momo is pretty decent, used one for years. Driving Force GT is better but probably more expensive (up to 900 degree wheel rotation, Momo is only 240 or so).

If you're going to really get into sim racing though, a G27 is the best price-performance ratio, any higher and you get the crazy really expensive stuff.
Way over your R500 budget but wanted to mention it in case you're considering.

not gonna happen unfortunately. The cheapest decent one is the Logitech Driving Force GT, and that's about R1300-R1500. The G27 and such are over R3k. The only ones you'll find for under a grand are the Genius or no-name Fong Kong stuff that won't work properly, and break pretty easily.
So y'all need to hide yo uzis, hide yo assault rifles and hide yo bazookas 'cos they disarmin' everybody out here!

Agreed. Don't buy a cheap wheel brand new. There's someone on Carbonite.co.za right now that has a feeler out for a Momo wheel that he's selling. Maybe you should make him an offer.

I had a Momo, tried to sell it here for R500, didn't work, so I gave it to a friend whos really enjoying it. I bought G27 for R3500 and its better than a Momo but its not R3000 better.

I bought a Logitech Driving Force Pro(old version) for R400 on Gumtree , and I cannot think of anything else you might require. Has a load of buttons, is accurate and has its own clamps. I strongly recommend it.

Gumtree. It just started making this rattling sound every time you turn the steering wheel in dirt 3. eish...

Sounds like the vibrating mechanism is loose or something.

    Permission to say c*ck

At what percentage is your feedback settings in the Logitech Profiler? I'm thinking that maybe it's just set too high.

EDIT: If I were you, I would turn it(FFB) off totally and see if it still does it, then you will know for certain.
